A Waterskiing Getaway in Tigre

A Waterskiing Getaway in Tigre

About this experience

Tell us where you are! We will pick you from your hotel to take you on a private speedboating tour!

Experience how stunning Tigre´s nature is, lunching where sediments slowly “grow” into beautiful swamps that, in time, become sizable islands. Take time to visit an island family restaurant (Argentine barbecue “Asado", salad, dessert, coffee and a non-alcoholic beverage will be served): you won't regret it.
Home to otters, storks and southern lapwings, these 12 acres of marshland are simply breathtaking. As a dim view of the Buenos Aires skyline reveals to the visitor that, there, the city feels like a far away land.

Then get ready for some serious fun!! Feel like flying just above the water? Jorge Renosto is a world-known water ski champion and current judge at the Olympic Games. At his prestigious 50-year-old Waterski and Wakeboard School, he teaches how to put on a pair of skis and have a lot of fun!

Everyone is invited: children as well as adults, both athletic and not so athletic.
10 minutes of instruction on dry land are followed by 20 minutes of fun in the river with an instructor skiing by your side.

Don´t miss this fantastic chance to experience what made me (and many others) fall in love with Tigre. Laughs guaranteed as we boat back through Tigre´s highlights.

My name is Agustina. I have been going to the Delta ever since I was a baby and it is, no doubt, my favorite place in Argentina. The Delta is, to me, a place of unparalleled natural beauty that offers a sharp contrast to my bustling everyday life in Buenos Aires.

I am an economist and, after working at a few large companies and, later, in development issues in Bangladesh and Argentina. I embarked on a journey that sought to merge my entrepreneurial enthusiasm with my love for travel. So I opened Le Passage, a design boutique in downtown Buenos Aires, where I sell my findings: crafts from all over the world and all over Argentina that I find remarkable and that have a story to tell. And the Delta, this other place I also call home, is where I can always go and lose myself, boating across its incredible labyrinthine rivers, islands, and channels, feeling the breeze on my face in spectacular natural surroundings. It is thanks to Tigre that I can experience flying over the water on my beloved waterski and, at the end of the day, contemplate a splendid sunset. I feel blessed to share this magical place with my family, friends and with people from around the world that make every day at Tigre unique.

One of the highlights of my holiday in Buenos Aires was a day trip to Tigre, with Agustina from My Tigre Trip! While Buenos Aires is an amazing city, the trip to Tigre was a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city (I’m from Perth in Western Australia, so am used to much smaller cities!) . Agustina was the best guide - super friendly, lots of fun and had a great knowledge of the history, geology and famous sites of Tigre. The boat we went out on to tour the Delta was modern, clean and chic. Memorable moments from the day include: - pulling in at a Jetty and having coffee and cake at a local restaurant (we were greeted by Chef Maxi and his dog and cat) – the views over the delta and back to the skyline of Buenos Aires were spectacular; - learning about the delta and the history of its people; and - simply being out on the water, with the fresh air, so much to see, and great company. It was such a relaxing trip (make sure you catch the sunset) and is a must-do for anyone visiting (or living in) Buenos Aires.

This was more than a tour, but an experience. I went with a friend of mine from the UK who has never been to Tigre before, and he loved it. I have been to Tigre a few times, but after trying Agustina's tour, I felt like going there for the very first time. She is very knowledgeable, and knows every single canal, bird and house. She would tell us the history of Delta, what it used to be, and what it is now. Being by the water the whole day, whether on the boat or on the ground is a huge plus, and different from other tours I have tried, where it is a quick boat ride and then some touristy lunch. This was definitely worth trying. Agustina is super sweet and always willing to help. She surprised us with some on-board snack (which included champagne!) and knew when to make conversation and when we needed our alone time, when she would then chat with Ramiro, the captain. The boat is a speed-boat and has limited capacity, which is good because it is ideal for private experiences. It can also be used for skiing and wakeboarding, and she has all of the equipment necessary on board, plus life vests for all ages. The place we've been to for lunch is a secluded little spot in the middle of Paraná River, yet offering some of the best steak I have ever tried. Service is good, the captain knows his way and the guide is just the best. Anyone out there looking into going to Tigre for a ride? Look no more, this is your place.
